We loved connecting with Georgia readers at the Decatur Book Festival! 📚

One reader shared her experience with the Georgia Reads for America 250 Beanstack Challenge and how meaningful it is to have access through our three library partners.

This is what statewide literacy looks like: readers, libraries, and communities coming together to make reading part of Georgia’s story.

📚 Georgia Reads Together!

We loved bringing Georgia Reads to the Decatur Book Festival this past Saturday and connecting with readers, families, and communities from across the state.

From celebrating America 250 and the power of civic literacy to sharing resources that support reading at every stage of life, the day was a reminder that literacy is a statewide priority—and everyone has a role to play.

🇺🇸📖 One state. One shared commitment. A Georgia that reads.

Today was a meaningful day of reflection, learning, and looking ahead! 📚

Georgia Reads was proud to bring together the 2025–2026 Georgia Reads Community Award winners for an evaluation session with GeorgiaForward and Kennesaw State University at the Georgia Municipal Association.

Together, we reflected on the impact of their literacy work, shared lessons learned, and explored how communities can continue building stronger pathways to literacy across Georgia.

We are grateful for the organizations and communities leading this work every day. Their stories, insights, and commitment continue to show what is possible when Georgia reads together. 📖

📚 It’s Connect With Your Library Friday!

As we wrap up Georgia Reads Week, we’re shining a light on one of the most valuable resources in every community: your local library.

Libraries offer so much more than books. From storytimes and learning programs to technology, community events, resources, and opportunities to discover something new, there’s something for everyone.

Whether you’re a longtime library lover or haven’t visited in a while, today is a great day to reconnect with your library and discover all it has to offer. 💙

📍 Find your local library.
📖 Explore something new.
🤝 Connect with your community.

A study by Booktrust found that children whose parents or teachers read and enjoyed books were 40 percent more likely to read and enjoy books themselves. Check out Mrs. Demaio reading with her class and visit Booktrust for more ideas on how to help your children love reading.
