🚨 Outstanding Job by the Traffic Unit 🚨
The Union City Police Department would like to recognize our Traffic Unit for an outstanding job recovering one stolen vehicle during a proactive enforcement operation and arresting a male that fled from our traffic unit previously.
During the investigation, officers also recovered green leafy substance along with a firearm equipped with an illegal modified switch.
Their dedication, vigilance, and commitment to keeping illegal weapons and criminal activity off our streets continue to make a difference in our community every day.

Today, the Union City Police Department was honored to participate in a special literacy event at C.H. Gullatt Elementary School alongside Dayle Burns, literacy advocate and wife of Georgia House Speaker Jon Burns, State Representative Lydia Glaize, and Principal Dr. Bentley.
Captain Barry Walker and Officer Meredith proudly represented the Union City Police Department as students enjoyed a wonderful reading session that highlighted the importance of literacy, education, and positive community partnerships. Events like these strengthen the connection between law enforcement, educators, community leaders, and the children we proudly serve every day.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success and for continuing to invest in the future of our community through education and mentorship. 📚👮🏾♂️

Person reportedly hit by train in Union City incident Union City PD reported a train incident closing an area of Highway 29/Roosevelt Highway on Tuesday morning with emergency crews on scene.

The Union City Police Department is advising all motorists to avoid the area of Highway 29 / Roosevelt Highway due to a train-related incident this morning.
Emergency crews, including Union City Fire and Grady Memorial first responders, are currently on scene working to manage the situation safely.
