Parents USA From diapers to diplomas, the Collective Voice of Parents - a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

After determining that no other entity acts as a voice for all parents, married and unmarried mothers and fathers, to flex the collective power of parents in the USA, the National Association of Parents was formed. Among other goals, the National Association of Parents seeks to protect the rights of all parents by using only the Untied States Constitution as its guide, the National Association of Parents was founded to be the civil liberties law firm that will do so. The National Association of Parents will undertake innovative litigation in the state and federal courts and will influence public attitudes on behalf of parents whose Constitutional rights are to be protected from infringement by the government.

In most situations, a court order is required before a child is removed from their home. States also have laws allowing emergency removals when officials believe a child faces an immediate danger of serious harm.
If an emergency removal occurs, a judge typically reviews the case promptly, and parents generally have the right to:
✔ Attend court hearings
✔ Present evidence
✔ Seek legal representation
Understanding the legal process can make a difficult situation a little less overwhelming.
ParentsUSA is dedicated to educating families and advocating for policies that support fit parents.
Your generosity helps us continue this important work.

A report alone does not automatically result in a child being removed from their home.
Child welfare agencies are responsible for investigating reports, assessing a child’s safety, and determining whether legal intervention is necessary. Removal is considered one of the most serious actions and is generally reserved for situations where a child cannot be safely protected at home.
Knowing your rights empowers families.
ParentsUSA is committed to educating parents, advocating for due process, and helping fit families navigate the child welfare system. We hope to end the practice of anonymous reporting, which is often abused by former spouses, horrible neighbors, and others with an agenda other than looking out for a child.
If you believe every fit parent deserves a fair chance through due process, consider making a donation to support our mission.  Unfortunately, our current resources do not allow us to help as many parents as are making such requests.

Every family’s situation is unique, but research has consistently shown that when children can safely remain with fit parents or relatives, maintaining those family connections often leads to stronger emotional, educational, and long-term outcomes.
Keeping families together whenever it is safe to do so isn’t just compassionate—it’s a goal shared across much of child welfare policy.
At ParentsUSA, we believe fit parents deserve fairness, due process, and the resources they need to keep their families together.
Help us continue advocating for parents and children across the country. Unfortunately, our current resources do not allow us to help as many parents as are making such requests.

For Alexandra Woodward, what she describes as a real-life nightmare became a journey she never expected to face—but she didn’t have to face it alone.
In this powerful conversation, Alexandra shares how ParentsUSA help her through one of the most difficult experiences of her life.
Her story reminds us that even in the darkest moments as a parent when your rights are violated by those in government, you don’t have to go it alone.
Watch Alexandra’s story and hear what ParentsUSA meant to her along the way and why your support of ParentsUSA allowed us to help her and others. We are besieged by requests for help and cannot step up most often because we lack the resources to do so. Your help will make the difference for others like Alexandra.

The Supreme Court has recognized and reaffirmed parents’ rights through key decisions for more than a century.
From Meyer v. Nebraska (1923) to Troxel v. Granville (2000), these landmark cases have established that parents have a fundamental role in directing their children’s care, education, and upbringing.
Understanding these legal protections helps parents advocate more effectively for their families. The real problem is the failure by law enforcement, 911, judges, and prosecutors to honor these parental rights.
At ParentsUSA, we work every day to push back against the infringement of fit parents’ rights through advocacy at the trial and appellate levels and through legislative changes.
If you believe that strong families build stronger communities and that parents, not government, should be allowed to make decisions for their own children so long as they are not causing harm, please support our work by your one-time or recurring monthly donation in any amount.

Dolly Parton has quietly made the rest of us look bad, and somehow, we still love her for it. While many people wait until they have “enough” money, enough time, or an estate large enough to require its own legal department, Dolly has spent decades practicing a wonderfully simple philosophy: Give it while you’re alive.

ParentsUSA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, offers pro bono trial and appellate legal services to fit parents. Your generous support enables us to fulfill this mission. Consider making a one-time donation or, even better, a recurring monthly donation of $5, $25, or more. Our sole objective is to protect the constitutional rights of parents, as affirmed by the US Supreme Court. A significant portion of our work involves drafting amicus curiae (“friend of the court”) appellate briefs that advocate legal positions on appeal. These briefs aim to secure favorable outcomes for the parents in their appeals, ultimately benefiting all parents.

A Virginia mother was sentenced after allowing her child to walk alone to pick up goose feathers.
But as ParentsUSA’s Executive Director David DeLugas asks: “Instead of asking ‘how old was the child,’ we all should instead ask ‘how capable was the child of handling the circumstances?’”
Children aren’t defined by a number. Parents know their children’s abilities, maturity, and limits.
The irrational fears of others including law enforcement and prosecutors should not override the decisions parents make about their own children.
