I was offered an AmeriCorps*VISTA position in Manchester, NH at the end of June, and I'll be toting all my worldly possessions Northward this weekend. At this point, things are getting packed about as quickly as my local liquor stores can empty boxes. Tomorrow, I pick up the U-Haul trailer. That should be an adventure!
As to the position itself, it should be interesting. The group is called The Way Home, and they've been working on homelessness and home health (lead paint, etc.) services for about 20 years. They've been so focused on their mission, however, that they haven't implemented any kind of fund-raising strategy, so that will be my role. It should offer plenty of opportunities for creative problem-solving.
