🌳🌸 NEW! Adopt a Spot! 🌼🌿

The Attica Park Board is excited to introduce our new “Adopt a Spot” and we need YOUR help keeping our beautiful parks looking their best!

We are inviting local businesses, organizations, families, and community groups to take pride in our parks by adopting a designated area to help maintain and beautify!

🌷 Big or small, there’s a spot for everyone! Whether you’re looking for a small area to care for or a larger space to make your own, we have opportunities for all levels of involvement!

This is a wonderful way to give back to our community, work together, and help keep Attica’s parks beautiful for generations to come! 🌳

📩 Interested in adopting a spot? Contact the Attica Park Board for more information about available spaces, maintenance guidelines, and responsibilities.

❤️ A little community pride goes a long way!

A few weeks ago, the Attica Park Board had the pleasure of holding a dedication ceremony celebrating two new parks in our community, other park updates, and the refurbishment of the Wabash overlook. It was a great opportunity to recognize the people, organizations, volunteers, and community support that have helped make these projects possible.

🏞️ The Ward Memorial Park – Ouabache Playground
Major improvements are underway at Ouabache Playground, which will be named The Ward Memorial Park. This project is made possible through a $48,890 Community Foundation grant.

🛝 Harold Long Memorial Park
Our new toddler park was added at Ravine Park near the raised garden beds. The community voted to name this new park Harold Long Memorial Park, providing a special space for our youngest residents to enjoy.

🛝 Circle Park
Circle Park has been upgraded with the installation of the old Attica Elementary School playground, generously donated to the community.

🌊 Wabash Overlook
The Wabash Overlook has been refurbished, and a new stone path is being installed. This project is being funded through the Warren County Community Foundation and BlueWay Grant. We are excited to continue making this beautiful area a place our community can enjoy. Make sure to check this spot out! Would be a great spot for senior/ graduation pictures.

🛶 Floating Dock Project
We have also secured a floating dock project funded entirely through a BlueWay Grant. This is bringing another great recreational opportunity to our community.

🚶 Dry Days Trail
BlueWay has approved a $22,000+ grant for the refurbishment of the Dry Days Trail. This will allow us to continue improving our trail system and outdoor recreational opportunities.

These projects represent a lot of hard work, planning, fundraising, grant writing, volunteering, and community support. We are incredibly thankful to everyone who has helped make these improvements possible.

Our parks belong to our entire community, and we are excited to continue investing in them and creating spaces for our children, families, residents, and visitors to enjoy for years to come. ❤️🌳

🌳 PLAYGROUND DEDICATION CEREMONY | FRIDAY AT 4:00 PM 🌳

The Attica Parks & Recreation Board is excited to invite our community to a special Playground Dedication Ceremony this Friday at 4:00 PM at Ouabache Park, down by the river!

We will officially dedicate two special spaces within our park system:

❤️ Ward Memorial Playground — located at Ouabache Park by the river
❤️ Harold Long Memorial Playground — our newly named toddler playground at Ravine Park

This ceremony will also give us a chance to celebrate just how much has been happening in our parks! We are incredibly proud of the improvements, programs, and projects that have taken place throughout the year.

🌳 RECENT PARK UPDATES
• Circle Park received playground equipment from the former elementary school, giving that equipment a new home for another generation of kids to enjoy!

• New safety mulch has been installed throughout our town parks to help our playground areas meet safety protocols.

• The river overlook has received a major upgrade and refurbishment!

• The walking bridge at Ravine Park was replaced by Stonebraker Construction, creating a much safer crossing for our kiddos and families.

• Our Park Program was a HUGE success this summer and was able to provide children with both breakfast AND lunch!

• The Twilight Music Series was a hit once again! We loved seeing our community come together at Ravine Park for evenings of live music, food, and fun.

🚧 AND WE AREN’T DONE YET!

We have several projects currently underway or in the works:

• Cleaning up and maintaining a walking trail connecting Arms Woods to downtown and continuing on to our river sites

• Renovating the restrooms at the Ravine Park Pavilion

• Working toward creating an easier campsite and pavilion reservation system accessible by QR code

• And something we are VERY excited about… our new FLOATING DOCK is coming soon! 🛶🎣

There is so much happening within our Attica parks, and we are excited about what’s ahead!

Please join us Friday at 4:00 PM at Ouabache Park by the river as we honor the Ward and Long families, celebrate the progress made throughout our parks, and share more about what is coming next. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at the entrance of the pavilion.

We hope to see our community there! 🌳❤️

🌳 Attica Park Board – Community Update 🌳

The Attica Park Board has been busy working on improvements throughout our parks, trails, and recreational areas! We are excited to share some of the projects that have recently been completed, are currently underway, and are coming soon.

🛝 Park Safety & Improvements

All of Attica’s parks are receiving safety upgrades to help bring our playgrounds into compliance with current safety guidelines. New borders with mulch are being installed around playground equipment throughout the parks.

Our older playground equipment has also been repainted and refreshed. We greatly appreciate all of the community volunteers who have donated their time to help make these improvements possible!

🌱 Ravine Park

A brand-new “Toddler Park” has been added at Ravine Park, located near the raised garden beds. This gives our youngest residents a dedicated space to play and enjoy the park.

The community has also voted to officially name the park Harold Long Memorial Park, honoring Harold Long and his connection to our community.

🛝 Circle Park

Circle Park has received several upgrades, including the installation of the old Attica Elementary School playground, which was generously donated to the community.

We are excited to see this playground continue to provide enjoyment for Attica families for years to come!

⛳ Disc Golf Course

The Disc Golf Course has received new signage throughout the course, making it easier for players to navigate and enjoy the course.

🏞️ Ouabache Playground – Ward Memorial Park

The Park Board is excited to move forward with major improvements to Ouabache Playground, which will be named The Ward Memorial Park.

The project has been funded through a $48,890 Community Foundation grant, allowing us to make significant improvements to this recreational area.

Current project timeline:

* Concrete sidewalk, trash can pads, memorial bench pad, and pavilion pad — scheduled to be poured in the fall.
* Memorial bench, playground sign, and Community Foundation signs to be installed.
* ADA-accessible parking lot — to be installed by the City in September
* ADA parking signage and pavement lines — to be completed by the Park Board
* Landscaping — planned for November
* Vendors are currently being contacted for various supplies needed for the project

🛶 Floating Dock Project

We have also secured funding for a floating dock project, which will be funded entirely through a BlueWay Grant.

The dock is expected to be installed around Heritage Days, adding another recreational opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy our waterways.

🌊 Wabash Overlook

The Wabash Overlook has been refurbished, and a new stone path is being installed to improve the area and make it a more enjoyable place for the community to visit.

This project is being funded through the Warren County Community Foundation- BlueWay Grant

🚶 Dry Days Trail

BlueWay has also approved a $22,000+ grant for the refurbishment of the Dry Days Trail.

This funding will allow us to continue improving our trail system and provide residents with better opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

⸻

The Park Board is grateful for the community support, volunteers, organizations, grant opportunities, and local partnerships that are helping make these improvements possible.

There is still a lot of work ahead, but we are excited about the direction our parks and recreational spaces are heading. We look forward to continuing to improve these spaces for our children, families, residents, and visitors to enjoy for years to come! Stay tuned for future projects: we have a lot more exciting updates coming to Attica ! 🌳💚

Thank you to everyone who has helped make these projects possible!

🎉 Let’s have some fun, Attica! 🎉

We need YOUR help naming one of Ravine Park’s newest play areas!

The Attica Park Board recently relocated a playground set from the old elementary school to the toddler area located on the hill near the raised flower beds. Over the next couple of months, we’ll also be adding fresh safety mulch to make it an even better place for our littlest park visitors to play.

Now comes the fun part… this special spot needs a name! 🌳🛝

💬 Drop your best park name ideas in the comments below!

Who knows...Your suggestion might become the official name of our newest park area! ❤️🖤

Our next Twilight Music Series event coming soon! Event page will be made with more details. Hope to see you all there!
