It's that time of year again!
🎓🇺🇸 VFW YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES — MASSACHUSETTS 🇺🇸🎓
The Veterans of Foreign Wars and its Auxiliary are once again encouraging Massachusetts students to share their voices, their patriotism, and what America means to them through two outstanding scholarship opportunities!
✍️ Patriot’s Pen — Grades 6–8
Students submit a 300–400 word written essay for the opportunity to earn national awards of up to $5,000.
🎙️ Voice of Democracy — Grades 9–12
Students record a 3–5 minute original audio essay and compete for more than $2 million in scholarships, including a $35,000 National First Place Scholarship.
🇺🇸 2026–2027 Theme:
“What a Veteran Taught Me About America.”
📅 Entry Deadline: October 31, 2026
Completed entries should be submitted to a participating local VFW Post.
These programs give our young people an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices of America’s veterans while developing their writing, speaking, and leadership skills.
📲 Scan the QR code on the flyer for rules, eligibility requirements, entry forms, and information on finding a participating VFW Post.
Please share this with students, parents, teachers, guidance counselors, schools, and youth organizations across Massachusetts!
🇺🇸 INSPIRE. WRITE. COMPETE. SUCCEED.
