May 7, 2026 is Big Day of Giving-a 24-hour opportunity to support Friends of the Auburn Library. Our goal is $20,000 as we continue building a $100,000 enhancement fund for the
renovated library.

Donate at www.BigDayofGiving.org (search "Friends of Auburn Library"), or give early from April 23-May 6. Donations may also be mailed to PO Box 5424, Auburn, CA 95604. Matching funds are available-help us double the impact! We already have a $3,000 match sponsor-join us in making 2026 our best year yet.

Thank you to everyone who came out for the annual “We Love Our Library” fundraiser dinner last night at the First Congregational Church. There was delicious food, raffles, and auctions, live and silent. Thank you especially to all of our donors.

A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone who donated to Friends of the Auburn Library on the Big Day of Giving. FOL received $1700 in donations that will go directly into supporting the Auburn Library and its many programs.

PRESS RELEASE – The California State Library has been notified by the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) that, effective April 1, 2025, the 2024-25 federal grant awarded under the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) has been terminated.

EDIT on March 27, 2025 at 1:40pm: After the launch of California’s Bookshelf virtual library earlier today, The Palace Project has seen an influx of new users accessing The Palace Project app. Increased traffic has caused app slowness and outages that the Palace team is currently addressing. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve these issues.

An Executive Order is gutting Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)
We need everyone to take action to preserve the IMLS and its funding for libraries in every state. EveryLibrary, the advocacy group for libraries, has issued a statement that addresses this Executive Order and provides library advocates like you the opportunity to urge Congress to continue federal funding for libraries here:
