☀️ Join us for a community paddle at 10am on Thursday, June 11 at Upper Lake Clementine. Bring your own paddlecraft or borrow one from us and enjoy a lovely day paddling around the canyon.
🦝Join us Saturday, June 13 at the Oregon Hill Parking lot for an incredible native animal presentation by Wild Things Wildlife Programs. You may even get to pet some critters 👀 Presentations are at 11am, 2pm and 5pm.

⚠️CANYONS ENDURANCE RUN EVENT NOTICE⚠️
Please be advised of the following closures and traffic impacts due to the Canyons Endurance Runs.
🚫 Mammoth Bar closed April 23 at sunset to April 26 at 8:00 AM
🚫 Drivers Flat Road and Ruc-A-Chucky closed April 23 at sunset to April 26 at 8:00 AM
🚫 Lower Lake Road Closed April 25 6:00AM-11:00AM
⚠️Quarry and Olmstead remain open; however, expect traffic impacts

🚮River cleanup!🚮
Join us at the American River Clean-up on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Spend the morning cleaning up the canyon, enjoying community, nature, and learning. Clean-up begins at 8:00 AM, check-in at American River Confluence. Additional meetup in Colfax at the Mineral Bar Campground. Clean-up supplies provided! Just bring yourself, your water bottle and your friends.

✅City of Auburn providing shuttle service from ✅Confluence to trailheads in the area
✅Volunteer lead historic bridge & natural history hikes

⚠️Event Notice -Olmstead Parking Lot⚠️
On Saturday, March 21, 2026 the rattlesnake dick run will impact the Olmstead Parking lot and adjacent trails. Lots will remain open, but be prepared for increased activity in the area for the duration of the event.

TO QUALIFY: All applicants are required to complete the following:
✅️Pass a COMPETITIVE swimming test at a listed location consisting of the following:
🏊♂️1,000 yard open water swim. Time limit of 20 minutes.
🏃♀️🏊♂️🏃♀️A continuous 200 yard run, 400 yard swim, 200 yard run. Time limit of 10 minutes.
🗣Qualification appraisal interview.
👍Successful completion of the California State Park Lifeguard Training Program.
👷♂️Successful completion of Field Training Program.

⚠️ROAD CLOSED⚠️
As of 2/28/26 Old Auburn Foresthill Road is closed due to an active rockslide. Closure is in place between the Confluence and Foresthill Road. There is currently no estimated time for reopening. is working to assess the situation and safely reopen the road as soon as possible. Please avoid the area during this time.
Parking in the Confluence area is heavily impacted by this closure, visitors are encouraged to visit other areas of the park during this time.

⚠️TRAFFIC ALERT⚠️ Old Auburn Foresthill Road
As of 9AM today, 02/28/26, Old Auburn Foresthill Road is closed between Foresthill Road and State Route 49 at the Confluence due to an active rock slide.
Crews are on-scene and are actively working to stabilize the hillside and clear the road.
There is no estimated time for reopening.
An alternate route is to take State Route 49 down to the Confluence from Auburn (Lincoln Way/Borland Avenue).
