A lifelong Placer County resident, Carolyn grew up in Auburn, attended Colfax High School, and studied Child Development at Sierra College. During her four years with the department, she has become a valued member of our team, known for her professionalism, dedication, and commitment to supporting the department’s mission and staff.

Carolyn and her husband are proud parents of three children, and when she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and enjoying a good cup of coffee and some chocolate. A fan of country music and summer weather, one of her bucket-list goals is to visit Hawaii someday.

We are excited to see Carolyn continue to make a positive impact in her new role and look forward to all she will accomplish as Executive Assistant.

Terry has served the Placer County Probation Department as our Executive Secretary, providing dedicated support, professionalism, and a positive presence that has made a lasting impact on our department. Her hard work, commitment, and willingness to help others have been appreciated by staff across the organization.

While we will miss seeing Terry each day, we are grateful for all she has contributed throughout her career and wish her nothing but the best in this next chapter.

Officer Luna joins our Pre-Trial Division and brings with her a passion for public service, community engagement, and helping others succeed. Prior to joining Placer County Probation, she worked as a Community Service Officer with Sacramento State Police Department, where she gained valuable experience serving and supporting the community.

Officer Luna was drawn to Placer County Probation because of the department’s strong commitment to community involvement and outreach. She is excited to bring her creativity, life experiences, and dedication to helping individuals make positive changes while promoting accountability.

When she's not at work, Jailenne enjoys hiking with her Golden Retriever, Buddy, spending time with family, crafting, and perfecting her homemade pan dulce recipe.

After more than two decades of dedicated service, the Placer County Probation Department proudly recognizes Lynn Griffin on her retirement.

Since joining the department in 2001, Lynn has played a vital role in helping Probation evolve through significant technological advancements, including the transition from paper files to the CE and Tyler systems. Her knowledge, professionalism, and commitment to excellence have left a lasting impact on our organization.

While Lynn's contributions to records management and training have been invaluable, she is most proud of the strong and supportive Clerical Team she helped build. Through her leadership, mentorship, and dedication to teamwork, she fostered a collaborative culture that continues to strengthen our department today.

Thank you, Lynn, for your years of service, dedication, and the positive influence you have had on so many throughout your career. We wish you all the best in your well-earned retirement!

🎓 From Probation to Possibility: Graduate Earns Diploma and College Scholarship

Success stories like this remind us why we do what we do.

This week, a former probation youth graduated from high school, and Officer Tompkins had the honor of attending the ceremony at the youth's request. It was a proud moment to celebrate not only a diploma, but also the hard work, determination, and growth that made it possible.

During his time on probation, he successfully completed all of his probation requirements while balancing school and working throughout the summer. Through his commitment and perseverance, he successfully terminated from probation and continued moving toward his goals.

His journey is far from over. This fall, he will attend Sierra College after earning a scholarship to help further his education.

Congratulations on this incredible accomplishment. We are proud of the work you put in and excited to see what the future holds.

Members of the Placer County Probation Department were honored to join the Placer County Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement partners in this year's Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Together, participants carried the Flame of Hope in support of Special Olympics Northern California and the incredible athletes who inspire us through their determination, courage, and achievements.

As Guardians of the Flame, law enforcement officers and public safety professionals help carry a message of hope, dignity, and support for Special Olympics athletes. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when communities come together to support these incredible athletes.

We are proud to stand alongside our public safety partners in support of Special Olympics and the athletes who continue to inspire us every day.

This Memorial Day, Chance reminds us to pause, reflect, and honor those who gave their lives in service to our nation.
We remember the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom.

The Placer County Probation Department will be attending the Placer 4 Mental Health Wellness Fair on May 21 in Roseville!
