Last week, Placer RCD had the delight of hosting 2nd and 3rd graders from at for a pollinator workshop! The kids did a scavenger hunt and pollinator bingo, and we were able to see a bunch of pollinators (even with the drier season!).

Have you planted your garden yet? Local wisdom states that it’s best to wait to plant your garden until it snows on the dogwoods — that means that following our April cold snaps, it’s time to get plants in the ground for much of Placer County!

Some things to remember as your start your garden:
💦 Be consistent with your irrigation, and avoid watering in the heat of the day
🌱 Keep soil moist by top-dressing with compost or straw
🌰 You can plant transplants and/or direct sow your seeds

For more support starting your summer garden, and have fabulous resources!
