Latino Leadership Council

We have a great event coming up this weekend. Join us this Saturday, June 24, for a Children and Family Health and Resource Fair. The event will be from 2-6pm at the gym (indoors, so avoid the heat) at Regional Park in Auburn...right across the street from Chana High School. We'll have lots of community partners there offering resources and we'll have special programs specifically for pregnant Latinas and newborns. Come join us for great information, resources, games and prizes!

Join us this afternoon, Monday June 12th, for our monthly community meeting. Today's presenter will be Sierra Pregnancy & Health, who will be talking about their free prenatal services and their outreach to the Latino community. Today's meeting is from 4:30-5:30 pm at Sutter Roseville, Meeting Room #16 (That's the one on the lower level, right outside the cafeteria). Don't forget to bring your program and event flyers and information to share with the group. See you there!

SAVE THE DATE!!! Join us on September 13th for our 4th annual Forum on the Latino Community. Invitations will be going out soon, but mark the date on your calendars for now and we look forward to seeing you there.

The ladies at our Rincon de las Comadres program are holding a special fundraiser tomorrow (Friday) to help one of the participants who has been diagnosed with cancer. A raffle will include items hand-made by the participants, including a cross-stitched table cloth and a throw blanket, as well as other purchased items donated by the Comadres.

The fundraiser will be held at Eich Middle School, Room P-1, in Roseville, on Friday May 12th, from 11am to 2pm, with the raffle drawing at 1pm. The ladies from Rincon de las Comadres will also be there selling some of the arts and crafts they've done in the group. Come help support the Comadres and, in particular, the participant for whom they're raising funds. Thank you.

Join us this afternoon at our monthly community meeting. Today we'll have Sonia Delgadillo, Sierra College Associate Professor, sharing information about the new free ESL classes being offered at the Rocklin and Grass Valley campuses. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to learn or improve their English skills. The meeting starts at 4:30 pm and will be located in Meeting Room #16 (right outside the cafeteria) at Sutter Roseville. Don't forget to bring any program flyers and information you'd like to share with the group.

We just received an anonymous $500 donation during the Big Day of Giving! Thank you to whoever made the donation. We're still accepting contributions until midnight tonight.
