𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱!

Our Mountain View Fire & Rescue firefighters recently stopped by the Grand Opening of the new Safeway in the City of Black Diamond to help welcome them to the community!

Beyond emergency response, our crews appreciate opportunities to connect with the businesses and community members we serve. Familiarity with local businesses, building layouts, access points, and fire protection systems can also help our firefighters respond more safely and efficiently when emergencies occur.

Congratulations to Safeway on the grand opening, and welcome to the Black Diamond community!

We were proud to join the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe for Tomanamus Community Day!

During the event, our personnel connected with residents, sharing important fire and life safety information, helping promote preparedness and safety throughout the community.

Tomanamus Community Day brings Tribal members, youth, and community partners together to celebrate connection to the land, culture, and one another.

Before the trick-or-treating begins, take a few simple steps to help keep your family, home and neighborhood safe.

🎃 Avoid long, trailing costumes.
🎃 Make sure masks allow clear vision.
🎃 Carry flashlights or glow sticks.
🎃 Choose battery-operated candles.
🎃 Keep décor away from heat and flames.
🎃 Keep exits and walkways clear.
🎃 Test smoke alarms.
🎃 Practice stop, drop and roll.

On October 10, 2026, firefighters (E392 & A398) responded to a multi-vehicle collision in the 17000 block of SE Green Valley Rd. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Firefighters used Holmatro Rescue World extrication tools to disconnect the battery in one vehicle, eliminating power to the horn and airbag system and reducing hazards while crews cleared the scene.

While not necessarily related to this incident, it's always a good reminder to:
• Put the phone away.
• Follow posted speed limits.
• Leave plenty of following distance.
• Never drive impaired or fatigued.
• Buckle up every trip.

Our firefighters had a great time visiting Sawyer Woods Elementary School to recognize our Fire Prevention Week Coloring Contest winners! Students received some cool Fire Department swag and fire safety information to take home.

A big thank you to Seattle Central College District Nursing (SCDN) for their generous donation of several adult, child and infant manikins for training use!

These manikins will support hands-on EMS training for MVFR personnel and the King County Fire Training Consortium's EMS Division, helping responders continue building and maintaining critical lifesaving skills.

We greatly appreciate SCDN’s support of first responder training and preparedness!
