The 2026 Child Care Market Rate Survey is now live!

Every three years, CCAP asks licensed child care providers across the state about their costs and prices. The 2026 survey is being conducted by the Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) in partnership with the Survey Research Center at the University of Southern Maine. The information collected helps ensure that CCAP reimbursement rates reflect Maine’s child care market and informs other child care policy decisions. Every provider’s participation is important to ensuring an accurate picture of current conditions across Maine. For more information, visit: https://www.srcmaine.org/providers-count/ or you can reach out to [email protected].

Many families in Maine have difficulty paying for child care. The Child Care Affordability Program (CCAP) helps eligible families pay for quality child care. Every three years, CCAP asks licensed child care providers across the state about their costs and prices.

CCAP redetermination packets are provided approximately 45 days before the due date to allow families time to complete the packet and submit all required documentation.

As your due date approaches, please remember that redeterminations are processed in the order they are received. An approaching deadline does not result in expedited processing or move a redetermination ahead of others already waiting for review.

Submitting your packet and required documents as early as possible is the best way to allow time for review and address anything that may be missing.

Please don’t wait until the final few days to submit! 😊

📄 Applying for CCAP? Get your documents ready before you apply!

Having complete documentation ready can help make the Child Care Affordability Program (CCAP) application process easier and prevent delays.

Before you apply, gather digital copies of:
• Proof of citizenship or qualified alien status for each child applying
• Proof of Maine residency
• Documentation of all qualifying activities in your household, such as employment, self-employment, school, or training
• A completed Provider Information Sheet

Depending on your household circumstances, additional documentation may be needed for things such as:
• Custody and child support
• Special needs
• Legal guardianship
• Disability
• Other household income

📱 You can upload a PDF or take a clear photo of your document and upload it directly to your Family Portal.

Make sure your documents are complete, current, and easy to read. If a document has multiple pages, include all pages and, whenever possible, upload them together as one file rather than as separate pages.

✅ Taking a few minutes to gather your documents before you apply can help you submit a more complete application the first time!
