As the President’s war in Iran and tariffs on Canada drive up costs, many Mainers are worried about making ends meet.

This year, the Legislature increased funding for Maine’s Low Income Assistance Program (LIAP) to help more families pay for electricity. To remove bureaucratic hurdles and make these funds easier to access, eligible CMP and Versant customers will soon begin receiving automatic discounts on their electric bill.

The generation who fought for suffrage expanded the promise of our democracy. As voting rights face renewed threats, we honor their legacy by continuing the work of protecting that promise and building a more equitable Maine.
