🥞 AIS BREAKFAST CLUB IS LOOKING FOR MENTORS! ☕️
Augusta Independent FRYSC is launching our Breakfast Club Mentoring Program for AIS 7th graders, and we’re looking for some great adults from our community to join us!
We’d love mentors from local businesses, churches, government agencies, community organizations, and other groups. Basically, if you’re a responsible adult who can eat breakfast, carry on a conversation with a 7th grader, and occasionally pretend to understand their slang, you’re qualified to apply. 😂
Each mentor will be paired with two 7th-grade students to build a relationship with and support throughout the school year. Meetings will include a fun icebreaker activity, time to talk and connect, and—because we know how to recruit people—a small breakfast. 🥓🥯☕️
Mentoring gives our students another trusted adult in their corner—someone who can listen, encourage them, help build confidence, expose them to different careers and life experiences, and remind them that people throughout their community are invested in their success. And mentors get something pretty great in return: the opportunity to make a genuine connection with young people and see firsthand the impact that a little time, encouragement, and consistency can have.
📅 Breakfast Club Meetings — 9:00 AM, AIS Cafeteria
10/20/26 • 11/24/26 • 12/15/26 • 1/19/27 • 2/16/27 • 3/16/27 • 4/20/27
That’s seven mornings over an entire school year. You can make a difference without having to add another weekly meeting to your calendar. 🙌
Interested in becoming a mentor? Contact FRYSC Director Todd Kelsch at [email protected] or 606-756-2105.
Come for the breakfast. Stay because two AIS students are counting on seeing you again. 🧡🖤
