Did Washington Create the Problem Just to Regulate the Solution?
For years, Congress and federal agencies refused to establish clear rules for natural h**p products. That regulatory vacuum allowed chemically converted cannabinoids like Delta 8, Delta 10, THC O, and other synthetic derivatives to flood the marketplace.
Now many of the same policymakers who allowed that confusion are proposing a new federal framework with new taxes, permits, licensing requirements, and expanded regulatory authority.
The real question is, why wasn’t natural h**p regulated responsibly from the beginning?
Consumers didn’t ask for synthetic cannabinoids. Farmers didn’t ask for synthetic cannabinoids. Most legitimate h**p businesses didn’t ask for synthetic cannabinoids. The industry asked for reasonable rules for natural h**p and instead received years of uncertainty followed by a proposal that significantly expands federal oversight.
The synthetic cannabinoid market is a symptom of regulatory failure, not proof that natural h**p itself needed fixing.
Natural h**p deserves protection. Synthetic chemistry deserves scrutiny. Those are not the same thing.
