“Our team took this on because it was the right thing to do for our patients and our community. It’s about quality, safety, and making sure families feel confident in the care available close to home.”
Congratulations to Memorial Regional Health on their Pediatric Advanced COPPER verification! Pediatric readiness is so much more than supplies, training and policies. It is recognizing that all patients, no matter where they are, deserve high quality care. We are incredibly proud of the work and commitment of the staff at MRH!
Memorial Regional Health has earned 𝐏𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 through the COPPER program, recognizing our readiness to care for children in emergency situations.

This EMS Week, we congratulate Dr Anne Adema for her work - recognizing the needs for training EMS and ED providers when care for the critically ill child, and developing solutions.
“Fortunately, for the most part, kids are pretty healthy, so overall paramedics and emergency providers see fewer very sick kids compared to very sick adults. That means placing an IO in an infant or kid is a high-acuity, low-frequency event.”
