The city of Aurora is searching for its next Honorary Poet Laureate, a four-year term beginning in August 2026 and continuing through August 2030. The city's Honorary Poet Laureate program, managed by Aurora Public Library, recognizes the importance of literature as a vital part of our shared and diverse culture.

Are you in search an evening farmers market that fits your schedule? The farmers market at Hoffman Heights Library, 1298 Peoria St., is from 6 to 8 p.m. and the library will be open after hours to provide interactive programs. The next farmers market is Wednesday, June 24 and you can browse local goods outside while making your own printed totes or enjoying a camping storytime inside.

Summer of Imagination: Unearth a Story kicked off Tuesday, May 26! The community showed up and showed out at the many kickoff events at their local branch. The best part is that you can still be a part of the fun through July 31, and grab a free book while you’re at it!

Sacal: Exposición de Bronce is on display at Aurora Central Library, 14949 E. Alameda Parkway, featuring 21 unique bronze sculptures by internationally renowned Mexican artist José Sacal. The exhibit will remain on display through July 31, offering the community free access to one of Mexico’s most celebrated sculptors.

Made possible through the partnership of the Mexican Cultural Center, Aurora Public Library, Aurora Art in Public Places, Casa Estudio Sacal, the Sacal Foundation, and the Consulate General of Mexico in Denver.

Aurora Central Library, 14949 E. Alameda Parkway, is hosting the Colorado International Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition through June 9. The exhibit is free and open to the public. View the artwork during your next visit!

Farmers Market at Hoffman Heights Library, 1298 Peoria St., returns 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27! There will be a variety of local vendors and Hoffman Heights Library will remain open after hours to host a variety of programs, such as painted flowerpots and cave painting storytime.
