Simply Speaking Toastmasters Aurora

This trio of evaluators are not strangers to the elements of a good evaluation.

If you have hesitated regarding taking on this role, this coming Thursday is your opportunity to learn from seasoned members.

The time has come for club officer elections.

We will need a quorum so please come out to see and hear all of the candidates and enter your vote for the 2026-2027 Simply Speaking Club Officers Team.

Although it may make your stomach growl if you haven’t had breakfast yet, a Toastmaster is not someone who has mastered the art of making the perfectly buttered and toasted bread that accompanies a plate filled with your preferred dietary choices.

The Toastmaster is the director and host of a meeting. They set the tone and keep the meeting on schedule.

Taking on this role is about more than just calling up the speakers, evaluators, and handing out the awards for the evening.

The skills you learn from being the Toastmaster for a club meeting are transferable and equip you for leadership in different ways.

Join our Toastmaster for the evening, Jamila N. Bryant, as she leads us in another night of great speeches and fellowship.

With the advancement of technology, being able to comfortably speak on camera is a public speaking skill.

If not required, how often do you turn on the camera for your Teams, Google Meet, or Zoom meeting?

Do you notice that you speak up more or less in a virtual meetings?

While in-person meetings can help us work on the feeling of fear we get when speaking in front of others, virtual meetings allow us to work on the things that we don’t think about.
