Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), a United Nations day celebrated worldwide every year on December 3rd.
This day is a great way to highlight and raise awareness on people with disabilities.
📣 Did you know that people with disabilities make up 16% of the entire population?
No one understands the needs of people with disabilities better than they do themselves. eople with disabilities must have a seat at decision-making tables in order to create the change necessary to achieve inclusivity.
The theme for this year is “Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress”, which builds on the theme of building a more just, inclusive, equitable and sustainable world.
Let’s keep working together for an inclusive, just and equitable Colorado For All ❤️

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month—a time to acknowledge, appreciate, and understand the needs of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Awareness creates opportunities, advocates for inclusion, provides support, and uplifts the lives of those we love and care for. We promote not only the pursuit of happiness but also the right to a purposeful and meaningful life. Please join us in celebrating by uplifting the lives of individuals with IDD.
