The Aurora Rural Fire District serves the communities and surrounding areas for Aurora and Donald. Included in our service area is a marina, two railways, Interstate 5, two highways, two school districts and two airports. All of this is protected from two stations staffed by dedicated people just like you who care about their community.

Thank you to everyone who came out today for the Aurora Fire District Station 910 Open House and Flag Pole Dedication! We appreciate the community’s support and everyone who helped make this event a success.

We would especially like to thank Molalla Fire, the Oregon State Fire Marshal (OSFM), and the Canby-Aurora VFW for assisting with the dedication honoring Don Shirrell.

Don Shirrell was a Northwest Natural gas service technician and a volunteer firefighter/EMT with Molalla Fire. He tragically passed away on February 16, 2009, near Station 910 on Ehlen Road due to a Motor Vehicle Collision. Today’s dedication serves as a tribute to Don and his service to the community.

We would also like to thank GK Machine, Northwest Natural, and Abiqua Landscape Products for their generous assistance with the flagpoles and barkdust.

Thank you to all our partners, volunteers, and community members who helped make today special. We are grateful for the continued support of our community and proud to honor those who have served others.

Your Aurora Fire District firefighters are helping communities across the great state of Oregon by responding to large wildfires threatening homes, property and critical infrastructure.

When our firefighters deploy to these incidents, they do so at no additional cost to local taxpayers. These assignments also provide valuable opportunities to build relationships with fire agencies from across the state, strengthen regional response networks, and gain hands-on training and experience that our crews bring back home to better serve the Aurora community.

Aurora Fire District remains staffed and ready to respond to emergencies in our community while crews are deployed.

We’re proud of our firefighters for stepping up to help communities in need while continuing to build the skills and partnerships that make us stronger here at home.
