The Village Institute is a holistic family support center for refugee and immigrant families in Northwest Aurora, Colorado. We help families build wealth, worth, and wellbeing by bringing family advocacy, resource navigation, career readiness training, early childhood education, and mental health services all under one roof. Our mission is to cultivate a multigenerational ecosystem that uplifts the power of refugee and immigrant families and brings them closer to their neighbors.

As our community welcomes both Ramadan and the Lunar New Year, we celebrate the beauty of traditions that call us to reflection, renewal, generosity, and joy.🌙🏮

At The Village Institute, we honor the families who are fasting, feasting, praying, gathering, and passing down stories across generations. Love, for us, is rooted in action. Love is walking alongside the families we serve, so that no one in our Village has to carry their burden all alone. The work we do is a love letter, not only to our ancestors, but also to our communities, and to the next generation who deserve a future full of possibility.

As we step into a new year, we’re filled with deep gratitude for the community that makes The Village Institute what it is. Because of you—our families, supporters, staff, and neighbors—2025 was a year of growth, resilience, and possibility.

Together, we created spaces where children felt safe to learn and belong, where young people stepped into leadership, and where families navigating immense change found steady support and connection.

As we welcome the year ahead, we’re excited to continue building a multigenerational village rooted in dignity, cultural strength, and opportunity. Thank you for walking alongside us and for believing in the power of community-led change.

As we close out the year, we’re celebrating the incredible growth we've seen this year.

In 2025, our Little Village Early Learning Center welcomed over 30 children, sent 11 pre-k students off to kindergarten, and OPENED AN INFANT ROOM for children as young as 6 weeks, while Village Futures provided nearly 70 teens and young adults with peer mental health support, career and leadership training, and a fun social space to connect, grow, and BE THEMSELVES!

Meanwhile, when our community needed it most, our amazing CARE social work team helped families facing terrifying circumstances like eviction, deportation, and domestic violence to find stable housing, jobs, legal services, and community.

In the spring, we'll see the seeds we planted this year begin to sprout, but now, we still need your help to sow. 🌱 Your year-end gift helps us expand our programs and reach more families across our Village.

We’ll gather for an evening of community, conversation, and a special viewing of our short film “A Love Letter” – a testament to the strength, beauty, and resilience of newcomer families who make Aurora home. If that doesn’t say “Light in the Darkness”, we don’t know what does!
