The Small Game Program, with regional TPWD staff and other state and federal agencies, is responsible for managing an array of upland, waterfowl, and webless migratory game bird species and their habitats in Texas. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and U.S. Department of the Interior will jointly present on New World screwworm (NWS) preparedness and response. NWS, also known as Cochliomyia hominivorax, can infest livestock, wildlife, and other warm-blooded animals, including people.

This webinar is specifically targeted for the wildlife and hunting community and will cover:

- recognizing and reporting NWS infestations;
- cases and response within Mexico;
- sterile fly production and dispersal, including new facilities;
- other domestic preparedness activities; and
- interagency coordination.

Turkey season is in full swing in most of Texas. Remember to report your turkey harvest in the Texas Hunt and Fish App or on the website at tpwd.texas.gov/huntandfish. This law went into effect statewide 2 years ago.
