βThe spider is a repairer. If you bash into the web of a spider, she doesnβt get mad. She weaves and repairs it.β -Louise Bourgeois π·οΈπΈοΈπ€
Bourgeois was a French-American artist, known for her large scale sculptures and installations. Throughout her prolific career (over 60 years!) she featured various motifs, such as spirals and spiders, the latter represented her mother who was a weaver.
We recently added a book on Bourgeois called Spirals - come check it out! UT is also lucky enough to have a Bourgeois sculpture on campus, Eyes. Head to Landmarks, The Public Art Program of The University of Texas at Austin for more information

It's National Library Week! π
National Library Week is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities.
This yearβs theme is Libraries = Strong Communities. πͺ
Libraries = Strong Communities illustrates how today's libraries are at the heart of our cities, towns, schools and campuses, providing critical resources, programs and expertise. Libraries also provide a public space where all community members, regardless of age, culture or income level, can come together to connect and learn.
So get out there, visit your local library, and celebrate!
