Hooray for the wonderful people who came out July 6th to do battle with nandina and ligustrum at Blunn Preserve! Many thanks!!

We’d like to give big thanks to the fine people from Austin Parks and Recreation’s prescribed fire crew who came out today to do a pile burn in Blunn Preserve. Very impressive to see how experienced and thoughtful and careful they were.

Thank you to the terrific volunteers who came out today for a Blunn day - very grateful for all the work preparing the trails for a safe prescribed pile burn planned by the City: another good step towards restoring the Preserve and mitigating fire risks.

Thanks to all the kind visitors who worked and toured Blunn Creek Nature Preserve on May 4th, some yanking those !@ #$%^&*() hedge parsleys, and some discussing how parks like Blunn can get helped and improved in the years to come.
