Through the Texas Veterans Commission’s Military Veteran Peer Network, veterans gather at Jaime’s boxing club not just to work out, but to find purpose, camaraderie, and community.

Helping Veterans Starts Here! This podcast highlights services of the Texas Veterans Commission, which assists veterans in obtaining all the state and federal benefits they have earned. Veterans, family members and survivors pay no cost for our services. We file disability claims and appeals, help resolve VA medical care issues, assist with education benefits, and the job search, and help vets start their own business.

We work to ensure veterans have access to competent mental health services. We have a Women Veterans Program and we award grants to veteran serving non profits.

From classic cars to connecting veterans with valuable resources, the Big Country Veterans Expo & Car Show brought the Abilene community together for an incredible day. 🚗

Hosted by the Texas Veterans Commission and Texas VLB , this free, family-friendly event connected veterans, service members, and their families with programs, services, and organizations dedicated to supporting those who served.

TVC Commissioner Mike Hernandez, Executive Director Thomas Palladino and Deputy Executive Director Shawn Deabay, attended the event to connect with fellow veterans, share available resources, and support the local veteran community.

Thank you to everyone who came out to make the day a success and to all the partners, exhibitors, and community members who helped create such a great event in Abilene.
