Earlier today, the 68th Game Warden Training Academy held its graduation ceremony at the State Capitol in Austin, TX, where Texas State Park Police and Texas Game Warden cadets received their commission.

Since October, these men and women have prepared for this moment and their lives as state law enforcement officers for Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. Throughout their training, they have distinguished themselves by showcasing discipline, courage, and determination in overcoming and meeting every challenge presented to them.

With their training behind them, now it’s time to go to work. These graduates from the 68th class are ready to serve and protect the great State of Texas as they embark on their law enforcement journey.

We hope everybody had a great Memorial Day weekend! Our SPPOs put in the hours to help keep our parks safe but we had an amazing helping hand! This young lady saw someone drowning and she made the courageous decision to step in and save them! Thank you so much!

This morning, State Park Police Officers Scott Robertson and Matt Argenbright, together with Harrison County Game Warden Cole Reneau, delivered a presentation at Harleton Jr. High School focusing on water safety and the responsibilities of their roles in conserving and protecting Texas' natural and cultural resources.

This morning, the graduates of the 2026 State Park Law Enforcement Advanced Academy were celebrated and welcomed during a graduation ceremony held at the Bastrop State Park Refectory. Through their training, these dedicated officers have shown remarkable ability and perseverance. This accomplishment marks a significant point in their careers as they move forward. We congratulate them on this achievement and look forward to their future contributions marked by integrity, professionalism, and service. ⭐️👮‍♂️🏕️

Park Law Enforcement Association

This week, the advanced academy trainees completed fi****ms training at the gun range, where they acquired the fundamentals of pistol and rifle marksmanship under the guidance of our expert fi****ms instructors. The training covered pistol-mounted optics, pistol grip, trigger control, positional shooting, and patrol rifle tactics.

The course of fire shown in the video is the 1,000 yard drill, designed to simulate an officer’s use of their weapon effectively while experiencing physiological responses consistent with high stress situations.
