We just wrapped up our Generations in Motion program at Conley-Guerrero Senior Activity Center, and what an unforgettable day it was! We were thrilled to partner with the Filipino Student Association from the University of Texas, whose officers and members brought so much energy, warmth, and heart to our center.

The students introduced a traditional Philippine cultural dance, sharing their heritage and raising awareness about recent events in the Philippines. Afterwards, our seniors and students came together for arts and crafts and some high-energy karaoke that had everyone smiling!

A huge thank you to the UT Filipino Student Association, our wonderful Conley-Guerrero volunteers, and our dedicated staff for making this intergenerational event such a success. A special thanks to the student officers, staff, and volunteers for helping capture and share these fantastic photos! Seeing our older adults, volunteers, and college students learn from one another truly captures the spirit of our community.

Weekends are a great time to get artsy! The Zilker Holiday Tree Art Contest is open for submissions through November 1. Kids ages 5-10 are invited to share an 8.5x11 inch drawing of the Zilker Holiday Tree.

Remember - artwork should be representative of the Zilker Holiday Tree specifically and not just a typical tree!

Join Us for It’s My Park Day at Stoney Ridge Neighborhood Park

Hi neighbors! Austin Parks Foundation is hosting It’s My Park Day to help us safely care for our parks AND earn a free It’s My Park Day tee. This city-wide event is on Saturday, November 7, and will feature lots of ways to safely support our parks. The Stoney Ridge Neighborhood Park event will focus on litter pick up and mulching, and there will be arts and crafts activities for kids.

Flutter Through The Forest at Zilker Botanical Gardens on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 9am-2pm. Join us for a day of fun, family-friendly activities this Halloween at the Zilker Botanical Gardens! More events and info: RootsandWingsFest.com

Experience the forest from a butterfly's perspective with guided tree-climbing activities hosted by the Urban Forestry team.

Step inside a live butterfly tent, where hundreds of native pollinators flutter around you, accompanied by hands-on monarch tagging and migration releases.

Listen to live performances by local zoologist singer Lucas Miller.

Join guided nature and bird walks lead by local naturalist and ecologist through the botanical garden’s Oak Groves.

Come hungry and refuel with Snow Mo and the Corndog company who will be selling food and drinks throughout the event.

Price of a general admissions for the Zilker Botanical Garden is required for this event. Free admission is available for Conservancy members and Museums for All participants (Families with an EBT card, WIC, STAR/CHIP, SNAP, Medicaid, or MAP identification card).
