Sharon Hayes, who is a longtime TPWD volunteer and BAI was recognized for her hard work by the City of Burleson P&R Department on their page! Thank you for all you do for our public lands and to get folks into the outdoors Sharon!
Our city volunteers help make many of our Parks and Recreation events and programs possible. This month, we want to share the story of one of our newest volunteers, Sharon Hayes.
š¹ Sharon has been shooting archery since 2010 and is a certified instructor and instructor trainer. She volunteered to bring archery to Russell Farm Art Center and now introduces kids and adults to the sport in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment during Farm events.
š« After retiring in 2019, Sharon started canning as a hobby, beginning with pepper jelly. Today, she leads monthly canning classes at Russell Farm Art Center, teaching food-preservation skills that participants can safely use at home.
