💙 Introducing… TEAMMATE TICKETS! 🎟️

We recently launched a new school-wide way to recognize our Blue Jays for making GREAT choices & we are excited about it!

Our students do amazing things all over our school every day. They show kindness in the hallway, demonstrate responsibility in the cafeteria, help others, make safe choices, and show what it means to be a great teammate. Now, any staff member who catches a student demonstrating these positive behaviors can recognize them with a Teammate Ticket! 👏

Here’s where the TEAMMATE part comes in…

Throughout the week, students collect Teammate Tickets in their homerooms. On Thursday afternoon, all of the tickets from each grade level are combined into one big grade-level drawing.

On Friday morning, ONE ticket is drawn from each grade level.

The prize? That student earns EXTRA RECESS for their ENTIRE HOMEROOM during our morning SEL time!

Why reward the whole class? Because being a great teammate means understanding that our choices impact the people around us. One Blue Jay’s great choice can become a WIN for the entire team!

We want our students to learn that we notice the good, we celebrate one another, and when one teammate succeeds, we ALL succeed! 🐦

So, Blue Jays… keep making those great choices. You never know when someone might catch you being an AMAZING teammate! 👀

Third grade’s GT bridge unit is well underway! This week, students worked on different challenges for building beam, cantilever, and cable-stayed bridges. Students also enjoyed learning about different types of engineering from two students from UT’s American Society of Civil Engineers student chapter.
