An autonomous media project with an affinity for anarchy. Producing research to inform strategies of As such our organizational goals are three fold:

Principles:
Pro-liberation-We are dedicated to the complete abolition of all systems of domination and hierarchy. We stand absolutely against white supremacy, settler colonialism, cisheteropatriarchy, ableism, the state, and capitalism as systems which organize violent and hierarchical relationships between social groups. We recognize these structures as being interlocking and mutually reinforcing

, and therefore aim for immediate liberation from all these structures. We believe liberation will come from the formation of new, immediate social relationships to construct new ways of living in common in opposition to this world and all of its methods of control. Anti-Statism-We are dedicated to the abolition of the State and the logic that upholds it. By the State we mean any central decision-making authority that separates “politics” from people’s everyday lives, possesses a monopoly on violence that it can use to enforce its decisions, and imposes its authority over others. We see the state as integral to all forms of domination, as it provides a means for ruling classes to enforce their will and protect their power and enforces the ability to render individuals or entire populations disposable. We see police as an extension of this and refuse any negotiation with the cops. Anti-Capitalism-In tandem with our opposition to the State is our opposition to Capital. By capitalism we mean an economic system defined at its base by the private control of property, the coerced extraction of labor from workers who have no control over how they work, and the drive to accumulate wealth. From this we see the emergence of systems of market exchange and entire structures of value which turn all of life into commodities, from the environment to our own thoughts and emotions. We reject this system and all the violent hierarchies of value it creates that decide whether people deserve to live or die based on their capacity to be productive. Anti-Representation-In our vision of liberation we see no place for misguided faith in any group that could claim to lead a revolution. We define any attempt to claim leadership over a revolution, whether by an individual, an organization, or social group, as an attempt to represent and control the movement of revolution that will either fail or produce new hierarchies. Liberation will not come from any form of nationalism, identity politics, or vanguard party, but the immediate creation of new social relations and the self-organization of people in their everyday lives. Communisation-We reject any politics that invests hope in either the slow grind of reformism and negotiation within this society or sees revolution as a future event we must work towards. We affirm that liberation comes from a process of what we call communisation, the immediate creation of forms of solidarity, mutual support, affinity groups, and networks that can replace the domination of commodities and social roles in our everyday lives. Revolution must arise from the process of reclaiming everyday life from the desperate alienation and nihilism this world presents us with, taking back the means to survive and destroying whatever institutions destroy us. Towards this end, we refuse any negotiation with the current social order. We will not talk to police or invest in any politics that finds its endpoint in reformism and integration into this society and its systems of power. Goals:
As an organization, we do not believe it is our role to direct revolutionary energies or impose a vision of what alternatives we want to build. We see our role as enabling the forms of self-organization and resistance we hope will lead to new ways of living and to liberation. Provide an outlet for radical student activism-We hope to reach out to students on campus and get them involved in radical actions against systems of domination. We hope to provide a way for students to find information and get involved with groups off-campus working for things such as prison abolition and community organizing. As an organization, we aim to make readily available information on events and meetings and help facilitate student participation in these.
2. Spur direct action and mobilize students-We aim to radicalize student activism on campus beyond the pathetic spectacle of chants and protests that are so non-disruptive to those in power. We believe that any effective movement must engage in direct action tactics that put direct pressure on those in power. We hope to coordinate with other groups and facilitate the mass mobilization of students.
3. Foster a network of student activists and organizations to provide support systems that can meet students’ needs and gesture towards alternative ways of living. Spread Anarchy, Live Communism!

Re: Austin Protest

Moments of organic movement are what revolution is about! Let’s not forget that we should look to the masses and to the heart of the Black community for leadership. 400+1 stands in solidarity with the many Black folx who took to the streets on Friday and on Saturday and we don’t support the narrative that more disruptive or destabilizing forms of protest are somehow catalyzed, solely, by white people or non-Black people of color.

We encourage those who are called to demonstrate in this moment, to be in solidarity with Minneapolis and the rest of the nation, and to honor the memory of George Floyd, Tony McDade, Breonna Taylor, and Mike Ramos, to do just that. Members of 400+1 will be at the rally in Austin, learning from folx who are leading the charge.

Some considerations for the weekend as Austin stands poised to join the insurgent wave:

Insurrection is creative, fluid, & often joyous. Insurrection will not come from non-profits and their protest marshals, nor from those who declare themselves to be Very Serious Revolutionaries, trapped in the aesthetics of militancy, a desire for a head on war with the State, & revolutionary proselytizing

Those who would take your energy listening to speeches and walking a corralled march, and those who would take it to organize their own military formation, are different heads of the hydra of counter-insurgency.

This doesn't mean don't go--it means think intentionally about how to move and relate to others in the crowds that gather.

Sometimes the best spot to go isn't head on against the cops, but to where they're not watching, where you can seize the initiative to expropriate or attack. Sometimes the wisest people aren't the "protest organizers," but the rebels seeking something more than the "Revolutionaries" and "Activists" can offer. Sometimes a street party offer more insurgent force than getting organized into formation into any of the Left's "Parties."

Follow that which is unexpected, creative, and vibrant, not rigid plans and roles laid out by Activists or The Left. Instead of spreading counter-insurgent (i.e. police/State) conspiracy theories about "outside agitators" and provocateurs, recognize the courage of the riotous oppressed and exploited. Black people have been more than capable of engaging in uprisings for centuries, and it's about time we fight with them instead of erasing the fight with comfortable conspiracy theories. Fan the flames, don't douse them, and always be on the look out for the things we'll carry on if the fires die out. Find others who share the restless spirit, the desire for something that can't be satiated by those who called the rally, and push the fight forward. If you're gonna risk a virus by being on the streets, it might as well be fu***ng worth it right?

Finally, don't feel compelled to wait for the rallies this weekend to do something. APD HQ and the empty halls of political power are not the only places in this world you can attack. Find the antagonism against the police to develop in your neighborhood, community, or milieu. And if some cool autonomous s**t goes down, or you wanna highlight some strategic targets or intelligence for would-be rebels, drop us a message to post/boost the report.
