Don't forget today (Saturday, October 17th at 6:30p) is movie night at the fire station. We will have free cotton candy and popcorn. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, a picnic, and a flashlight, and join us for movie night under the stars at the fire station. We will be showing The Sandlot.

Our staff will direct you on where to park upon your arrival.

When charging on a plane, keep portable charging devices on the tray table. Do not charge devices in overhead compartments and never charge e-ci******es or vapes on a plane. As we wrap up Fire Prevention Week 2026, we've had an amazing, awesome, and busy week. Sparky and the crews have presented to over 1,000 students this week. We've enjoyed hanging out with students at Bright Beginnings Schoolhouse, Manchaca United Methodist Child Development Center, Primrose Shady Hollow, Manchaca Baptist Mothers Day Out, Baranoff Elementary School, Manchaca Co-Op homeschoolers, Casey Elementary School, and Menchaca Elementary School. We also were excited to attend three National Night Out events on Tuesday night at The Bridge at Estancia Apartments, and the communities of the Enclave at Estancia, and the Village of San Leanna.

We love our community and enjoy getting to know our community members.

Every year, Manchaca Fire Rescue teams up with the NFPA to promote Fire Prevention Week™. This year, the theme is Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower. Help us spread the word that everyday actions can help prevent lithium-ion battery fires. Use your charging superpower by making smart choices every time you plug in.

El cuerpo de bomberos de Manchaca Fire Rescue ha unido fuerzas con NFPA para promover la Semana de Prevención de Incendios™ de este año, que se celebra del 4 al 10 de octubre, bajo el lema “Impulsa la Seguridad contra Incendios™: La Carga Segura es un Superpoder”. Ayúdenos a divulgar el mensaje de que las pequeñas medidas que tomamos cada día pueden ayudar a prevenir los incendios provocados por baterías de iones de litio. Aproveche su superpoder de carga tomando decisiones inteligentes cada vez que ponga a cargar cualquier dispositivo.

Stop using your device right away if the battery smells strange, is warm to the touch, makes popping noises, changes in shape or color, or if you see smoke. Deje de usar cualquier dispositivo de inmediato si la batería huele raro, si se siente caliente al tacto, si produce ruidos de chasquidos, si cambia de forma o de color, o si ve humo. A burn ban remains in effect. All outdoor burning in Travis County is prohibited.

🔥🚫 Friendly reminder, Travis County is still under a burn ban!
We had a very rainy weekend, but that wasn’t enough to make conditions safe for outdoor burning.

Please help prevent wildfires:

🍂 Do not burn brush, leaves, or trash.
🚗 Avoid parking on dry grass.
🔗 Secure tow chains, so they don't drag.
🛠️ Use caution with welding, cutting, and grinding.
🚬 Don’t toss ci******es out the window.

Manchaca Fire Rescue is teaming up with NFPA to promote this year’s Fire Prevention Week™, October 4 -10, Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower. Help us spread the word that everyday actions can help prevent lithium-ion battery fires. Use your charging superpower by making smart choices every
time you plug in. Charge large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools outside when possible. Do not block exits when charging. These batteries store more energy, and fires can grow quickly if they fail. For more info: fpw.org.
