Recently, Captain Jackson and Medic Larriviere were reunited with a cardiac arrest survivor and presented with a certificate of recognition by Ascension Seton. The patient care team began first with our medics and Austin Fire Department Station 31 firefighters.

All cardiac arrest success stories begin with high quality CPR, experienced ALS care, and coordination with our hospital partners. The team at Ascension received this patient in the best possible condition to continue her clinical course. We wish her and her family continued healing and are grateful for her reunion with our medics.
Be a hero too...learn CPR.

🚑 National EMS Week...Save a Life Day 🚑
Today is all about one simple truth:
Bystanders save lives.
When someone goes into sudden cardiac arrest, every second matters. Immediate CPR can dramatically increase a person’s chance of survival before first responders ever arrive.
You do not have to be a paramedic, firefighter, or nurse to make a difference.
A parent.
A teacher.
A coworker.
A stranger nearby.
Hands-Only CPR is simple to learn and can help keep blood flowing until EMS arrives. The person standing next to the patient is often the first and most important link in the chain of survival.
Take the time to learn CPR. One day, it may save someone you love.

This post brings us back to the 'rad' years of the 90's. ATCEMS was totally 'all that and a bag of chips.' If you don't like the video, then you can 'talk to the hand.' Catch you on the flipside and cowabunga dudes.
