APD Child Abuse investigates s*xual abuse, physical abuse, and neglect of children in the City of Austin. If you have an emergency, please call 911.

We can be reached at 512-974-6880 or [email protected]. The Austin Police Department Child Abuse Investigations unit receives all calls of s*xual abuse and physical injury cases of children. APD Child Abuse also investigates child po*******hy, online solicitation and other incidents involving Internet and media crimes against children.

On June 27th in Travis County Jose Morales pled guilty to 10 years and a life time registry as a s*x offender in an Indecency with a Child by Contact case. APD Child Abuse Det. B. Poe investigated this case, where Morales had s*xually abused a 6 year old female multiple times. Upon completion of the investigation a 2nd degree felony warrant was issued with a $25,000 bond.

The Austin Police Department’s Child Abuse Unit extends our thoughts and prayers to the Dallas Police Department, Dallas Area Rapid Transit Officers, and the family and friends of the officers lost and injured in this senseless tragedy in Dallas.

APD Child Abuse Det. E. Guevara investigated a case of an Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child with an 8 year old female victim. Upon completion of the investigation, a 1st degree felony warrant was issued with a $75,000 bond for Mandela Williams (29 years of age). Williams was subsequently arrested in Travis County on May 27th.

APD Child Abuse Det. E. Guevara investigated a case of an Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child with a 15 year old female victim. Upon completion of the investigation, a 1st degree felony warrant was issued with a $100,000 bond for Dwayne Perry (38 years of age). Perry was subsequently arrested in Travis County on May 20th .
