National Night Out in Austin, Texas! 💙

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Meals on Wheels Central Texas table to learn how our organization works, pick up swag, and connect with our team members. We loved meeting with the community members in the Central Texas area!

Bringing people to the table can spark meaningful conversations and create a greater impact for the communities we serve.

Meals on Wheels Central Texas proudly hosted a OneTable event, which brought multiple organizations together. These organizations shared ideas, goals, and ways to better serve our communities.

Our work may look different from one organization to another, but when we come together, listen, and learn from one another, we can build stronger connections and open the door to new possibilities. Together, we can turn conversation into collaboration and collaboration into meaningful change.

Our Dove Springs Congregate Center recently hosted a carnival-themed event complete with games and a photo booth. Everyone who joined had a chance to laugh, eat, and even enjoy some friendly competition!

At Meals on Wheels Central Texas Congregate Senior Centers, every gathering is an opportunity to connect and build meaningful relationships. The Meals on Wheels Central Texas leadership team came together for our Leadership Academy. It’s a time to connect, collaborate, and look ahead. One of our neighbors is a 71-year-old widow. She has undergone heart surgery and has been diagnosed with sciatica, which means she has a strict diet. She has been receiving home-delivered meals and support from our HOPE program for nearly 8 years. She is grateful to Meals on Wheels for being a lifeline and offering her daily connection.

"The volunteers are so personable, always asking about things in my life but then sharing with me what is happening in their lives," she shared. "It is so nice getting to know kind people who are just living ordinary lives like all of us."

At Meals on Wheels Central Texas, we pride ourselves on the community we built and the daily connections we make. Every knock brings a conversation, a connection, a memory, and a smile. You are never alone in our neighborhood.

Many older adults experience loneliness and social isolation, which can take a serious toll on their emotional well-being. At Meals on Wheels Central Texas, we know that a friendly visit, a caring conversation, and a simple knock can help neighbors feel seen, valued, and connected.
