Congratulations to Firefighter/Paramedic Jack Sears!

He has completed his Paramedic clearance process to practice at that level on emergency incidents. The many hours of studying and training have paid off for himself, the department, and ultimately, the Oak Hill community. Many thanks to DCPE and all who supported him throughout the process. A great accomplishment all around!

A plane safely landed on Highway 290 near Derecho Drive this afternoon. The pilot was uninjured and no other vehicles or members of the public were affected. Engine trouble resulted in the emergency landing.

Travis County Sheriff's Office and Oak Hill Fire units are on scene securing the area.

Traffic is moving but the Eastbound lanes convert into one lane near the plane.

The Oak Hill Fire Department hosts annual training to allow regional firefighters to learn and train on new skills. This year, we welcomed Dagum to provide their No Quit RIT training. RIT stands for Rapid Intervention Team and involves firefighters rescuing trapped or lost firefighters. As you can see from the pictures, it is a very labor intensive operation with a lot to do and consider given the environment.

Thank you to Dagum, 1800 Boardup and all those who attended!

Our Engine 301, Truck 302, and Battalion 302 assisted Lake Travis Fire Rescue yesterday on an apartment fire. Units had trouble accessing the apartment due to the ice and had to operate from nearby roads and parking lots. All residents of the apartments were accounted for and are safe.

The Oak Hill Fire Department is proud to recognize our A Shift crews. Their quick action, training, and early recognition led to a return of spontaneous circulation and a hospital discharge for the patient. They will receive a Phoenix Award at our annual awards banquet. Great teamwork and dedication to serving the public!
