This campaign proved we can challenge the status quo with integrity, grassroots power, and a vision rooted in love for our city. While we came just shy of a runoff, we’ve built something transformative—a movement that will continue to shape Austin’s future.
I am proud of the volunteers, staff, and voters who made this campaign a force for change. Though the campaign is closing, the work isn’t over. I will return to organizing, my life’s work, ready to build on the momentum this campaign has sparked.
💬 Read my full statement above to read more about the impact of this campaign.
P.S. You can still support the campaign by helping retire its debt—donation info is included in the statement!
Let’s keep building, Austin. This is only the beginning.

Given that results are unofficial at this point and the margin is so small, I am waiting to see an official tally from the three counties to declare a position.
It is misleading for the mayor to declare that he won by a margin of 104,000 votes, when in reality, he is avoiding a runoff with a margin of only 14 votes and more ballots to count tomorrow.
We owe it to Austinites who have made it clear that they want new and accountable leadership, to ensure that every single vote is accurately counted and every voice is heard.

Good afternoon, everyone.
First, thank you to all who have stood by and checked in! We want to share a quick update on where things stand:
The race remains incredibly close, with the incumbent avoiding a runoff with just a few dozen votes, and thousands of ballots still awaiting analysis. Official results haven’t been declared, and a runoff is still very much on the table. We may not have a final answer for a few days—or even early next week—as counting wraps up.
We’ll keep you updated as soon as we know more about what’s next.
In the meantime, please remember to take care of yourselves and stay connected with loved ones. Enjoy this beautiful weather. These are challenging times, and your well being matters. Thank you all for your support and commitment to building a better future for our communities.

🗳️Let’s get Carmen elected Mayor of Austin!
✅Proud to receive this endorsement from an international climate justice organizer, Alexia Leclercq!
📢 Austin is facing more extreme weather, and people are feeling the impact. We need leadership that will prepare and protect Austin for the future.
🌱 Carmen Llanes Pulido has a proven track record working with communities and multiple city departments including the Office of Sustainability to build resilience. Over the past six years, Carmen has:
✅Led efforts to establish Resilience Hubs in multiple neighborhoods.
✅ Organized with frontline communities to create neighborhood preparedness plans for fire, flood, heat waves, and freezes.
✅ Held the city accountable for updating the infrastructure we rely on when extreme weather hits.
🔥 Climate Justice is Housing Justice: Carmen believes in preventing displacement and keeping our neighborhoods connected. We rely on these networks during emergencies. Carmen will fight to ensure all Austinites, regardless of income or race, have access to clean energy, safe housing, and a climate-resilient future.
🌍 Let’s vote for leadership that understands climate action is community action. Vote Carmen for Mayor and help create a just, sustainable future for all Austinites.

🤝I’m honored to be endorsed by Katie Coyne, who has dedicated over a decade to making Austin a more resilient and equitable city, including as the City of Austin’s Environmental Officer. Katie knows firsthand the challenges we face—rapid growing, environmental pressures, and massive inequities—and they’ve seen the importance of leadership that prioritizes Austin’s climate goals, environmental justice, and
🗣️Katie understands that my campaign isn’t simply about resisting reckless development; it’s about creating a future that centers people, sustainability, and justice. I share their belief that we can’t afford four more years of policies that disempower key leaders in climate and equity work. Together, with Katie and the people of Austin, I’m ready to build a city that puts our residents and environment first.
🗳️Let’s push forward toward a more resilient Austin that works for everyone, not just a few. Early voting continues through next Friday, November 1st, and I’d be honored to earn your vote!
