During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I'm proud to share that my article on Child Well-Being and the Parent-Child Relationship when Parents Experience Domestic Violence has been published in the Fall 2024 issue of the ABA Section of Family Law's "Family Advocate" magazine. I'm appreciative of being able to have this platform to advocate for healthy and safe families.

I'm truly honored to be recognized nationally as a changemaker for children and families! I'm proud to have received a Casey Excellence for Children Leadership Award this week, commending my efforts to make the child welfare system more equitable and anti-racist. I've been so privileged to collaborate with Casey Family Programs, the nation’s largest operating foundation dedicated to safely reducing the need for foster care and building Communities of Hope for children and families. I'm excited to continue this work with Casey nationally, with our Amazing Texas team, and with the fabulous folks in our Austin field office. Thanks to everyone who have partnered with me for innovation, change, and hope in our community ❤️

Excited to announce I am officially unopposed and will remain your Judge of the 126th District Court! A huge thank you to every supporter who helped us win re-election. It's always a great week when I get to share how our Travis County Family Drug Treatment Court: Parenting in Recovery program is doing revolutionary work keeping families together. Aurora Martinez Jones is an Associate Judge in Travis County presiding over hundreds of cases on the Family Drug Treatment Court and Child Protective Services dockets. The daughter of immigrants, she grew up in La Porte, Texas before coming to Austin to attend the University of Texas for both undergraduate and law school. After law school, Judge Martinez Jones started her own law firm focusing on child welfare law, personal injury, real estate, family law, and civil litigation. She is certified by the National Association of Council for Children as a Child Welfare Law Specialist.
