This May 25th is , when we honor every child still waiting to be found and every family holding onto hope. We also recognize the life saving role of the system in bringing children home safely.

In observance of Memorial Day, the TDCJ Victim Services Division will be closed on Monday, May 25th, 2026.

We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26th, at 8:00 AM.

On Friday, May 8th, staff from the VSD joined colleagues from TDCJ, agency leadership, and loved ones for the Annual Fallen Officers’ Memorial Ceremony in Huntsville. During the ceremony, Employee Support Services staff were available to speak with attendees, share information about the program, and provide resources to anyone in need.

The VSD extends heartfelt appreciation to all correctional employees across the nation who work tirelessly to protect our safety and wellbeing. We honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. 🕊️

Mental Health Awareness Month means being aware of our current state, noticing signs of mental health concerns, and being proactive towards our mental health. Here are some quick habits that can help us be more present and reduce our stress levels so that we can focus on the important things.

Each year, we observe May 15th as and the week in which it falls as . These memorial dates pay tribute to the law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

Work involves planning, developing, and implementing an agency program and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, governmental agencies, community organizations, and the public; and providing guidance to others.
