The same crews who keep the lights on across our service area spent their Saturday making the Hallettsville courthouse shine.

For over two decades, our Transmission team has helped set up the Hallettsville’s Festival of Lights, a tradition that brings the whole community together. We’re grateful to work alongside neighbors who make the season brighter.

LCRA’s Water Surface Management team regularly inspects buoys on the Highland Lakes, checking for damage, wear and other issues that may need attention.

These routine inspections are one of the ways the team maintains navigational markers on the lakes.

January 2027 projections are here! 🌊 Looking ahead to the new year, here’s what our model shows for the Highland Lakes:

Lake Travis ranges from 669-675 feet | Lake Buchanan ranges from 1,016-1,019 feet

We can’t predict rainfall, but 75+ years of actual weather data shows us what’s realistic. Our reservoirs work hard year-round to meet community water needs and manage flooding. These projections show realistic scenarios based on where we stand today. See the full 6-month outlook: https://www.lcra.org/water/highland-lakes-overview/

More than 3 feet in a week. 🌊 Recent rain, plus floodwaters passed through lakes LBJ and Marble Falls this weekend, has Lake Travis sitting at 95% full.

Thank you to our team for working around the clock to manage the water, and to local meteorologists and media partners for helping share safety info with the public.

Floodgate operations have resumed today at Wirtz Dam after more rain fell in the area. LCRA opened floodgates at the dam yesterday to move floodwater from the Llano River, closed them overnight, and reopened them today.

The water is being passed through the dam into Lake Travis, which has risen more than 2 feet over the last few days and is expected to continue to rise.
