We had the privilege to honor nurses at separate ceremonies on March 25th. Our second service was to recognize the professional life of Donald Noonan.
Don began his nursing career after serving as a hospital corpsman during the Vietnam War. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1974 and his Master of Nursing in 1976. He then went on to serve a long and distinguished career with the Veteran's Administration. His job duties included those as Chief of Quality Management, Chief of External Affairs, and Coordinator of Community-Based Outpatient Clinics through central Texas. Prior to retiring in 2008, he had returned to his roots in direct patient care.
Nurse Donald Noonan, thank you for standing beside people during moments of vulnerability; illness, healing, hope, and loss. We will take over your work from here.

Last night, we were privileged to pay tribute to Nurse Lillian. After raising her four children, she followed her dream of becoming a nurse at age 48. She went on to care for countless members of her community for the next 27 years. She also carried her skills and compassion with her as she completed multiple medical mission trips throughout Mexico and Central America. Nurse Lillian, we thank you and honor for your boundless dedication and unwavering devotion to improving patient care. We vow to carry on your work from here.

Today, we were proud to honor the professional career of Licensed Vocational Nurse LaSaundria.
LaSaundria knew from a tender age that she wanted to become a nurse. She proudly graduated from Dallas Nursing Institute and fulfilled this dream by becoming a LVN in 2007. Her legacy lives on in the patients she helped heal, the colleagues she supported, and the example she set for nurses who followed.
Rest easy sweet LaSaundria, we will take over from here.
