Starting in the fall of 2022, the City of Austin’s Office of Sustainability will work alongside partners and community members to co-create Austin’s first-ever Food Plan. The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) will support the Office of Sustainability in developing this plan. Together, we can design a shared vision for a more equitable, sustainable, and resilient food system in Austin.
Apply for the CAC here: https://www.austintexas.gov/department/austins-healthy-and-equitable-food-system
Austin's Healthy and Equitable Food System | AustinTexas.gov For Austin to be a thriving, equitable, and ecologically resilient community, it must have a healthy and just local food system. Growing, selling, eating, and recovering food locally creates jobs, strengthens the economy, improves public health, and reduces transportation impacts.

Cycling has a carbon footprint of just 33 grams of CO2 per mile traveled. That’s up to 30 X lower than that of a fossil fuel car, & could be 10 X more important than electric cars to help Austin reach net zero emissions by 2040. Today I hit 4,000 miles on this eastside cruiser!
