The Texas Desalination Association helps increase access to desalination technology with the goal of enhancing Texas water supplies now and in the future.
The Texas Desalination Association was organized in November 2011 to help develop mechanisms for making desalination technology more accessible across the Lone Star State with the goal of enhancing water supplies for now and the future. Our objectives include educating elected officials about desalination and its uses, incentivizing desalination technologies, and streamlining regulatory processes.

"This award is presented in recognition of distinguished public service outside the line of duty and in support of AWWA's principal of providing better water for people," quoted in the letter from American Water Works Association CEO, David LaFrance.
The letter continues: "Steven Walden’s passionate lifetime of dedication to the water industry has been impactful, just as his commitment to exceptional community volunteerism has benefited his local community and beyond with global missions. His outstanding public service and selfless leadership towards betterment of communities everywhere is well deserving of this Distinguished Public Service Award."
