Each SYMin team member brings something valuable, from practical knowledge to the ability to build connections and help clients navigate difficult situations.

By sharing our strengths and learning from one another, we can adapt our approach to meet individual needs and help clients move towards their own goals.

Team That Supports One Another

Family matters can come up unexpectedly, and we’re grateful to have a team that responds with understanding and flexibility when someone needs time away.

When one team member steps away, others help cover the work and keep things moving. That willingness to support one another makes a real difference in our day-to-day ministry.

We appreciate a team that shares responsibilities, respects life outside of work, and understands that everyone needs support sometimes. Working together means knowing we can count on one another.

Thankful for Our Space

We’re grateful for the space that allows us to gather, connect, and support our community. From our building and grounds to the air-conditioning that offers relief from the Texas heat, these everyday comforts make a real difference.

As fall arrives, we’re also looking forward to seeing the greenery around our grounds bounce back after a long, hot summer.

It’s a good reminder to appreciate the little things that make SYMin a welcoming place for everyone who walks through our doors.

A New Opportunity in Hawaii

A new chapter is ahead for one of our clients! Already employed, she has been offered a place to stay in Hawaii by a friend, allowing her to explore this opportunity while keeping her job.

Having a place to stay and maintaining employment are important steps toward stability. We’re glad to see her progress opening doors to new possibilities.

We celebrate this next step and hope her move brings new experiences, continued stability, and opportunities to keep growing.

A Piece of Home to Call His Own

One client enjoyed his artwork so much that he already knows where it will go in his new apartment: the first thing he’ll hang on the wall.

It’s more than something he created during Art Group. It’s something he’s proud of and wants to bring into his next chapter.

As he prepares for his new home, his artwork will be a personal touch that makes the space feel like his own. We love seeing clients express themselves, discover their creativity, and celebrate milestones along the way.

We love seeing clients explore thrift shops and specialty stores, finding items and interests that spark excitement. That excitement can lead to a bigger question: Could I turn this interest into a job?

At Street Youth Ministry, we celebrate these small discoveries. They help clients explore their interests, imagine new opportunities, and see how something they enjoy today could become part of their future.

Sometimes, taking the next step is easier when someone is there to help.

For young people experiencing homelessness, communicating their needs and navigating unfamiliar processes can feel overwhelming. At SYMin, our team offers guidance, reassurance, and practical support to help clients find their voice and connect with the right people.

The goal is to build confidence, not take over. Every conversation is an opportunity to help someone understand their options and move forward on their own terms.

The Impact of Being There

A client who was new to SYMin recently aged out on his 29th birthday. Although we had only known him for a few weeks, he became emotional while sharing how much the support and care meant to him.

Sometimes, a short season of being welcomed, listened to, and supported can leave a lasting impact.

His time as a client may have ended, but the connection doesn’t have to. We’re grateful for every person who allows us to walk alongside them, even for a short part of their journey.
