The hardest part of this job isn't what you think it is.
Austin Diaper Bank operates as a staff of four ... and distributes over 2,000,000 diapers, wipes, and period products each year to 37,000 families.
Yeah, that's kind of hard - but we have a secret weapon: community.
Our community supports us, financially and physically. Our community inspires us. Our community pushes us to do better.
But not every parent in Central Texas is as fortunate as we are to have someone in their corner. And that's what breaks our heart.
Nearly 1 in 2 (40%) of families in the Austin area can't afford enough diapers to care for their children properly. So what do you do when you ask your neighbor for help, but they don't have the support they need either?
When you join the Austin Diaper Bank community, you not only support our work. You support a parent, a neighbor, ... a friend.
Every dollar donated makes a difference - trust us. So, if you're inclined, consider this your call to community. π

Announcing: Our second annual Super Summer Diaper Drive!π
We're thrilled to launch this collective effort of gathering 75,000 DIAPERS by July 31st! Our community needs support this summer, and we're determined to lend a hand to local parents and their babies.

Anyone who's ever bought baby formula knows just how expensive it can be - that's why we won't let any go to waste. π
Did you have to try lots of different brands for your baby? Were you given some that won't work for your little one? Are you a pediatric center that can't use all those samples before they expire?
Austin Diaper Bank accepts donations of UNOPENED and UNEXPIRED baby formula powder or liquid, any size. You can drop it off at any of our donation sites throughout the city, including the OG (our warehouse on Denton). π
Visit www.austindiapers.org/donate-diapers or click the link in our bio to find your nearest drop-off location. π₯
Thanks for being part of the FORMULA that keeps our community happy, healthy, and thriving. π See what we did there? You should share this post if you did. π

A lot is going on in these photos, so let us explain.
Austin Diaper Bank proudly accepts donations of loose, clean diapers - if you would put them on your baby, we'd happily take them off your hands. One of the ways to donate? In our outdoor bins.
But we're missing a crucial step here.
Today, our team found loose and open diapers in our outdoor bin, soaked through with rainwater and filled with debris. They had to make the tough decision of throwing them away.
Loose or open packages of diapers MUST be tied in a plastic bag, placed in a trash bag, or sealed in some way before donating to prevent them from getting wet and dirty. This week's forecast is a recipe for disaster with any loose diapers dropped into our outdoor bins.
Please help us ensure that every diaper actually reaches a family in our community by taking steps to keep them safe and dry. If you ever have any questions or concerns about donating diapers to our bins, reach out to us by phone, email, or DM. We'll be checking the bin regularly to ensure we don't miss any of your kind donations.
Thank you for caring about our littler community members. π

It's back to the basics with the basic needs items at ADB this Wednesday! π
We've been super busy this season, but today, we prioritized the basics of giving back - volunteering. π Our volunteers are a BIG deal. They help us inspect, count, and package diapers for our 39 partner agencies in Central Texas. Simply put, we can't do our work without them.
Check out these fun photos of today's group, who spent time wrapping Size 5 Diapers and Pull-Ups!

Weβre wrapping up , but not the impact! π
The reality is that 2 in 5 people struggle to afford period products.
And you know what's crazy? Most Americans (77% y'all) believe they should be as easy to access as toilet paper.
There's obviously a gap in the system, and Bright Spot is working to close it. Period.
Help us finish the week strong by supporting our Bright Spot program. Donate dollars or tampons through our Amazon Wishlist at austindiapers.org/bright-spot or hit the link in our bio! β¨

It's time for a change this . π
No one should ever have to miss work, school, or ... life because they didn't have access to period products. Sadly, 1 in 3 people with periods do.
Enter the Bright Spot. π
Austin Diaper Bank and our period product program, Bright Spot, continue to work diligently for dignity. In 2023, our team collaborated with State Representative Donna Howard to successfully remove the sales tax on diapers and period products. This legislation was a huge milestone that's helped millions of Texans.
But data still indicates that about 40% of people are struggling to afford their period. You can help change that!
How? π§
- Donate period products (most urgent need: tampons) IRL or through our Amazon Wishlist!
- Host a drive to collect period products for Bright Spot
- Volunteer next weekend! We're prepping period products for our partners (say that 5 times fast! π)
You can find all of the ways to get involved at www.austindiapers.org/bright-spot and www.austindiapers.org/volunteer. And of course, links are in bios.
Thanks for being a part of the change!
