North Hays County Emergency Medical Services An Emergency Services District (ESD) is a local government entity created by voters to provide fire protection, emergency medical services (EMS), or both.

North Hays County Emergency Services District No. 1 provides ambulance service to the residents of northern Hays County including: Driftwood, Dripping Springs, and Henly. There are more than 300 ESDs in the state of Texas. NHESD No. 1 funds and oversees emergency medical services within its boundaries. The District employs highly trained emergency responders who have served our community for years, providing 24/7 coverage for medical emergencies.

When the Great Outdoors calls, Jasmine answers with “Bring it on!”
She’s the kind of person you want beside you when the trail gets rough.
Part healer, part adventurer, and completely at home under an open sky. Give Jasmine a hiking trail, some dark chocolate, a good book, a night beneath the stars, and she is in her element. She can make the outdoor experience complete by playing her harmonica around the campfire.
Jasmine knows that spending time outdoors brings something unexpected—and that’s exactly what makes it an adventure.
I guess you could say being in nature is a lot like being a medic: you never quite know what the day will bring, but you’re always ready for it.

Meet Juan Zamudio: Rookie of the Year
Don’t let the title fool you—Juan may be new to the EMS world, but he’s definitely no rookie when it comes to handling emergencies and high-stress situations.
Before joining EMS, Juan was a paratrooper. And honestly, we can’t think of many things more stressful than jumping out of a perfectly good airplane! That experience, discipline, and calm-under-pressure attitude have definitely followed him into the ambulance.
When he’s not working, Juan knows how to relax like he’s already retired. His favorite ways to spend his time are watching football (Hook ’Em! 🤘🏽) and fishing.
If you’re lucky enough to be around when he’s cooking, you already know Juan can bring the heat in the kitchen, too. And he’s probably whipping up his favorite Mexican foods.
EMS rookie? Sure.
Rookie to hard work and pressure? Not even close.
