Travis County Democratic Party’s precinct chairs have passed a resolution unanimously with no objection to censure Madeleine Connor. Connor has filed to run against incumbent District Judge Catherine A. Mauzy in the 419th Judicial District in the Democratic Primary Election on March 1.

At issue for TCDP’s precinct chairs is Connor’s history as a Republican, her public statements about using the Democratic Primary as a strategy to win office in Travis County as a conservative, and the possibility of vacating her current seat in the 353rd Judicial District to make way for a Republican appointee.

Hello Capital Area Progressive Democrats,

First things first - NO DECEMBER MEETING. We will meet in January for our endorsements - more on that below.

Thank you all so much for another incredibly successful Kick Ass Awards! We were anxiously awaiting our return to in-person events, and every single one of you helped make this one special.

Now, on to some business - our January endorsement meeting.

DATE: January 4, 2022
TIME: 5:30 p.m.
LOCATION: UA Local 286 Plumbers & Pipefitters
814 Airport Blvd, Austin, TX 78702

CAPD members will hear from candidates in contested primary races. Candidates will give a short intro and then CAPD members will be given an opportunity to ask questions.

In order to be eligible for the CAPD endorsement, a candidate must submit a (very, very short) CAPD questionnaire. The questionnaire will be sent out on a later date, and completed questionnaires will be available to view online.

Voting will be conducted via electronic ballot, and ballots will be emailed out at the conclusion of the meeting.

Dinner will be provided to CAPD members, and uncontested candidates are still invited to meet our membership. There will be some apprenticeship classes in session in the building during our endorsement meeting, so we ask that everyone be mindful of that and stay quiet outside of the main auditorium.

Onsite parking is available, with overflow parking available at 812 Airport (grass and gravel lot at the corner of Airport and Glissman).

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Democratically yours,

CAPD
