On September 19th at approximately 3:49 p.m. Goodhope Fire was dispatched by Douglas County Mo Sheriff for a possible structure fire. Automatic mutual aid was requested and Squires Volunteer Fire Department, Ava Rural Fire Department, City of Ava Fire Department -Missouri were toned. Upon arrival we found a fully involved structure fire. It also caused a natural cover (brush) fire that covered approximately 115 acres. The amount of personnel and apparatus that responded was quite impressive! We would also like to thank the other Departments in the County and neighboring counties who are willing to respond and also cover the gaps when mutual aid is implemented.
