๐ต๐ก AHSTW FBLA: Learning, Leading, and Exploring the Business World! ๐ผ๐
Members of the AHSTW High School FBLA Chapter spent Sunday, October 18, and Monday, October 19, attending the 2026 Iowa FBLAState Fall Leadership Conference in West Des Moines!
Throughout the conference, our students had the opportunity to connect with FBLA members from across Iowa while participating in interactive workshops, leadership development activities, and team-building experiences.
The conference focused on developing skills that will benefit students in the classroom, their future careers, and beyond, including:
โ
Leadership & Teamwork: Building confidence, strengthening communication skills, and learning to work effectively with others.
โ
Career & Professional Development: Exploring business-related careers and developing skills needed for success in the workplace.
โ
Networking: Connecting with fellow FBLA members, sharing ideas, and building relationships with future business leaders from across the state.
โ
Personal Growth: Stepping outside their comfort zones, developing problem-solving skills, and discovering new opportunities through FBLA.
๐ข A Special Business Experience to Finish the Trip!
To top off the conference, our chapter had the opportunity to visit Watercress Financial Group for a business tour and meet with CEO Matt Melius!
This was an opportunity for students to step beyond the classroom and experience the business world firsthand. Meeting with a business leader provided a valuable connection between what students are learning in their business classes and how those concepts apply to real-world business operations, leadership, and decision-making.
๐ A special thank you to Matt Melius and the team at Watercress Financial Group for welcoming our AHSTW FBLA students and providing this opportunity!
We are proud of our FBLA members for taking advantage of opportunities to learn, grow, and represent AHSTW. Experiences like these are what FBLA is all about: connecting classroom learning with real-world opportunities and preparing the next generation of business leaders!
