Supporting our local businesses is a priority of mine in Albany: making New York more affordable, creating economic opportunities, reducing burdensome mandates, and strengthening our communities. But I believe you cannot fully understand the impact of state policy by sitting in Albany.
That is why I make it a priority to get out into the 133rd District, walk through our local businesses, meet the people working there, and listen to what is working and what is not. What I hear goes back to Albany with me. It shapes the questions I ask in committee, the concerns I raise, the legislation I support, and how I vote.
High energy costs, taxes, workforce challenges, and unnecessary regulations all impact on a business’s ability to grow, invest, and create good-paying jobs. Addressing those challenges is part of making New York more affordable and creating greater economic opportunities right here at home. Strong local businesses help build strong communities. My job is to make sure their voices and the realities of doing business in Upstate New York are part of the conversation in Albany.
